EPA Completion payments for Legacy Contract apprentices
Providers may claim completion payments for apprentices funded through a DfE Apprenticeship Legacy Contract where the apprentice has successfully completed their End-Point Assessment (EPA) within 12 months of the contract expiry date.
Contract’s expiry dates as follows:
- Apprenticeship – Non – Levy Non – Procured (Expiry Date 31 July 2026)
- Apprenticeship – Trailblazers/Transitional (Expiry Date 31 July 2026)
To request a completion payment, provider must:
- Ensure the apprentice completion has been recorded correctly in the Individualised Learner Record (ILR).
- Complete the DWP Payment Request – Legacy Contracts form.
- Submit the completed form via itpcontact.imod@education.gov.uk
Following validation, the request will be passed through to DWP for approval and payment. Payments will be made once all required checks and approvals have been completed.

Eligibility
Providers can submit a payment request where all the criteria below have been met:
- the apprentice has achieved their EPA, and their contract has already ended
- the EPA completion date falls within 12 months of the Legacy Contract expiry date
- the apprentice was funded through a DfE Legacy Contract (as stated above)

the achievement has been correctly reported in the ILR
