Yes it should allow them to use a date in a previous contract year.
The only exception is where it's an employer who's had to reserve funding, in which case the service won't allow them to add a new record any earlier than today's date. In this case they're advised to edit the stop date to match today's date, and then add a new record as of the same month as the stop date, but with the remaining cost rather than the original. You'd then need to add a TNP3 and TNP4 on the ILR, recording the residual price with the same dates you've used on the new record on DAS.

Employer stopped DAS on Completion
Created
We have an apprentice who has successfully just completed the EPA process. Unfortunately the employer has "Stopped" the DAS account in the completion month instead of just leaving it alone. I understand that the employer has to edit the stop date back to when the record started and send us a new request. My question is, will the DAS system allow the employer to now submit a request to us backdated to July 2021?
