GCSE and Equivalents

Hi all,

We have learners not able to evidence their GCSE's for Maths and English, either through lost certificates or qualifications are not yet showing on PLR on LRS, but they have and can evidence a Degree. Can the Degree be used instead of completing Functional Skills instead of the GCSE's or not?

Thanks,

Tom

Not as such, this link is to a doc that lists the equivalency. Ultimately it is up to the EPAO as to what they are willing to accept

Except if you look on the front page *but not the list* it says:

Where the apprentice has a qualification at level 4 or above (SCQF level 7 and above such as an Advanced Higher) this is acceptable if the qualification is predominantly in the subject of English Language or English Literature and/or Mathematics.

(took me three years to notice this!)
