Learners failed to do EPA

Created

I have two issues that would be grateful for some help with:

1. How should I report a learner that has completed all training but then withdrew from the apprenticeship before starting EPA . It hardly seems fair that they should be treated as withdrawn and this impacts on completed stats.

2. I also have a learner that did successfully complete EPA but failed to successfully gain level 2 functional skills in Maths. (This was during the pandemic when it was permissible for the learner to go through EPA before attaining functional skills) They still haven't gained Maths and has decided not to continue. How should this be reported on the ILR and can I still receive funding for the EPA?

Thank you

Hello Julie,

I’ll leave the experts to assist you with learner 2 but unfortunately for learner 1 they would be a withdrawal as apprentices are not classed as a completion until they have attempted all elements of the EPA.

We’ve had learners in the past that sat part one of their EPA but failed to attend the remaining and they also had to be withdrawn. I agree it’s harsh.

Thank you Kelly, I appreciate your help with that. Can anyone help with my query on my completed learner (without Maths)?
