Pre-settled status

Good Morning,
We have a potential apprentice who has pre-settled status. She has lived here for 4 years and her visa is valid until May 2024. The apprenticeship is 24 months in duration so the visa will expire before she can complete the apprenticeship.
I know she can only apply for settled status after 5 years. My understanding is this is 'usually' granted. Do we accept her onto the programme under these circumstances?
TIA
Jean

Hi Jean
Short answer is yes, for precisely the reason you mention and applies to all visa-holding learners. It's not their fault (or our fault!) that they can't apply for extensions or a different status until their current status has nearly expired.
