Apprentice Joining Training Provider's Own Programme

Created

None

Hi all,

We are a training provider and we are looking to put some of our colleagues onto one of our own apprenticeship programmes, funded by Co-Investment. Is there any additional paperwork we would need to do aside from the usual Apprenticeship Agreement, Training Plan, etc...?

I am mainly looking for differences in the setting up of the apprenticeship, but if there are any delivery changes to look out for, any advice is appreciated!

Kind regards,

Tom

Main thing you need is a different pricing model from your delivery of the standard to other people so you can clearly show you're not making a profit.

Then you add the LDM 356 code which removes the need for you to pay yourself 5% (because clearly that is a bit silly)

Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I'm pretty new to this so hold onto your hat for some (probably, but hopefully not) daft questions...

  • In terms of the pricing model, how does this work in practice? Surely as the funding band of the apprenticeship is set at a level, this couldn't be changed?
  • Where does the code LDM 356 need to be added? The ILR?
  • Is there anything else you can think of that we should be doing? We want a couple of colleagues to go onto the course for quality purposes really, so all above board, just feels like we should be checking ourselves a bit more than it seems we have too...

Thanks again,

Tom

So, let's say it's Team Leader and you usually charge £4,500. Within your pricing model that shows the employer why you are charging top of the band (I am making assumptions here, but work with me), I'm hoping you have an element that says "surplus" along with direct and indirect costs. Let's say it's £200, so for your own employees, at a bare minimum, you need to take that off, but you probably need a more detailed break down of both direct and indirect costs to *prove* you're not making a profit.

And, yes, LDM code goes against the Programme Aim (ZPROG001) in the ILR. Afraid I don't know precisely where PICS stores it, but I'm sure they can tell you.
