Out of funding and OTJ

Created

None

Good evening all,

I have tried to get the information from funding rules and guidance however all are a bit vague.

I have a learner that was on programme for their full duration and became a leaver (withdrawn) on their practical period end date. They have since returned to learning on an out of funding basis to complete the little they had left and put them through EPA. Due to us returning and extending their duration by 3 months, it is required for the learner to complete OTJ hours for this time period of being out of funding?

The learner reached the 20% on their old profile however since returning them to learning, the new duration is showing 71 OTJ hours required.

A bit of a mind boggle. I would prefer for us to complete the 71 hours as its still duration of the programme, but just encase there is any pushback, I wanted to obtain reasoning or advice to back my thoughts on these hours.

TIA

The learner is not out of funding as 20% of the original funding (completion element) remains but this is recalculated when they restart and split again 80%/20% between monthly and completion payments for the restart duration.

The OTJ requirement would be the same as at the original start see the funding rules section “Planned hours agreed at the beginning of the programme versus actual hours delivered”.
