Funding outside of DAS

Created

None

Hi,

We have been approached by a company who want to sign an Apprentice up with us.  They have explained that due to the sensitive nature of their business, they are unable to use the Apprenticeship Service account or DAS.  We have not had this before so I am at a loss as to how we would be able to claim funding for the apprentice.  Can anyone offer any advice how we would do this please?

TIA

Jean

You wouldn't be 'claiming' anything per se, the employer would be privately funding the apprenticeship. You'd record them on the ILR in pretty much exactly the same way, save for using funding model 99 and source of funding 998 in place of whatever other funding stream you ordinarily use (e.g., funding model 36).

If memory serves you also don't need to enter the EPAO ID or TNP2 either.

We have been engaging with a similar employer (public sector) who require their apprentices' identities to be protected. In this case we have been advised that they are using Levy funding through a non-DAS  / non-ILR claim process, so it is worth asking the helpdesk about this (it may be that this arrangement is unique to this employer).

Thank you both.  I'm not sure which of those is the correct scenario as yet.  I've also been in touch with the helpdesk and am awaiting their response
