Apprenticeships - Revision counting as OTJ 23/24 funding rule

Created

Just putting this out there, interested to learn what other people think about this rule in terms of definition, in particular 'specifically required for achievement of the apprenticeship'?

NEW version - Page 37 ref 67 - We have considered feedback and now included ‘revision’ in the list of what can be included as off-the-job training. The revision must be specifically required for the achievement of the apprenticeship.

67.5 Revision (where this is specifically required for achievement of the apprenticeship).

Thank you

I think it's just badly worded/them a bit sad that we'd made a series of good points about how learning works! I mean, what else are they going to be revising for?

Proceed with caution when using revision as OTJ -  :)

Joking aside, I think we just need to be sensible about it? Like, I wouldn't expect to see four hours a week of "revision" on a learner's log, but a reasonable amount before any sort of assessment would be fine.

I think all of this came about because of an MV learner who was counting two hours every Friday washing cars. Like, after the first couple of weeks that not learning anything new, is it?

Thanks Steve.

Yes, for sure, we need to be sensible and ensure log entries are monitored/QA'd.
