Change of employer, probation period - Break In learning

Edited

None

Morning,

We have a learner who changed employer within 30 days but during the conversation with the employer, they want to place the learner on a break in learning until they have passed their probation. Is this feasible? the probationary period is around 3-6 months but can be extended if they needed to.

For me, I am not sure this justify a break in learning or if we should be withdrawing and restarting when they are ready.

What do people suggest with this one?

Many Thanks

Sarah

As this is longer than the funding rules indicate it should be a withdrawal and rerstart.

P30.4.2 In the case of an individual who is recruited specifically into a business as an apprentice, the practical period start date may be slightly later than the apprenticeship start date. This is so the individual can begin their job role first (the apprenticeship start date) and then begin their training (the practical period start date). These dates would usually be no more than 2-3 weeks apart.

Cheers Martin, I thought so to as the 12 week ruling doesn't apply as found a job and moved in under 10 days. Then their practical period could be months after the Start date! so thank you for the thoughts, it mirrored mine and confirmed the way.
