Not 16 until 19th July

Oh heck, this is one of those tricky ones...

I'm *assuming* they have just finished Yr11 and done their GCSEs, right (I'm thinking about my nephew whose birthday is last week of August who will be in this position next year)?

Per 20.3:

20.3. Starts their apprenticeship after the last Friday in June of the academic 
year in which they have their 16th birthday.

So your applicant *will* be 16 "this academic year", ie before 1 Sept, so they can start nownow (unless it's a role where being 16 is required!)

Just double-checked the validation rules and this is the relevant one:

"For aims starting on or after 1 August 2016 (LearningDelivery.LearnStartDate >= 2016-08-01), that are an apprenticeship (DD07 = Y), then they cannot start an apprenticeship until after the last Friday in June in the academic year (1 September to 31 August) in which they turn 16

(error where DD04 <= the last Friday in June in the academic year in which the learner turns 16)"
