Apprenticeship Minimum Wage during a BIL

Quick Question:
If an employer is paying an apprentice the Apprenticeship Minimum Wage (AMW) and the apprentice then goes on a break in learning, does the employer have to pay at least the National Minimum Wage for the duration of the BIL, or can they continue to pay the AMW for this time.
Obviously taking into account the rules where a learner is 19 years old etc.

Where the Apprenticeship agreement is still in force the employer can continue to pay the AMW.
