Failed EPA 22/23. Hoping to resit later in 23/24

Hi all, my brain is a bit fried at the moment with R14 so just looking for some advice on this one please. We have an apprentice who failed their EPA in July and has since left their employer. They are currently unemployed but have stated their intentions to retake EPA in January due to personal circumstances. Are we able to do this, and how should I record this in the ILR for R14? I'm not sure if it's best to record as 1+8 (but they may not end up resitting), or record as 2+3 (but then they may resit and achieve). Thank you in advance.

1&8 would be my feeling, if you believe they'll get a new job by then (and you've got the six weeks 'til R14 to decide still). Easier to record it back to July in 23/24 if they don't subsequently resit.

Having said that, there's a financial implication. If you leave them as 1&8 in R14 and then have to 2&3 them back to July, you won't get the completion payment...

Thanks Steve. An unfortunate gamble that we might have to take.
