We have been approached by a parent whose 16 y/o is doing an apprenticeship that includes functional skills maths with a private training provider. The child was 9 marks off their GCSE Maths and would like to retake it alongside their apprenticeship but the private provider is not able to support that. Parents want to purchase the training privately from us.
Is that allowed? No EFSA funding will be claimed but the student is effectively paying for something that they have a legal entitlement to access via their apprenticeship.
