Frequency of Recording OTJ

Hi, I'm interested to find out how others are recording the frequency of OTJ activities. For example, where a learner attends college, would you expect to see OTJ recorded linked to their learning on the day OR captured monthly with one statement during October I have learned about........OR a mixture of the two?
In the past I have been told not to log more than 6-7 hours per day as OTJ, is this a requirement for audit, or for Ofsted?
Some of courses are for 48 months and we are looking at ways to minimise the amount of OTJ entries required without affecting the funding rules.

The ESFA OTJ training template evidence collection form records on a daily basis, I would expect auditors would be looking for this or a similar record of OTJ hours.
From our experience auditors are not keen on bulk entries being added I.e one entry for 50 hours for the month. If that happened you would need back up evidence.
