Morocco qual - Math equivalent qualification?
Created
None
Afternoon,
We have a new learner on an Apprenticeship who believes they are exempt from Math Functional Skill due to a qualification they achieved in Morocco. They have provided the Naric Statement of Comparability document that has three qualifications on it:
Master Degree in Economic Sciences and Management – Management and Organisations (comparable to British Masters degree standard)
Bachelors Degree in Fundamental Studies – Economic Sciences and Management (comparable to British Bachelors degree standard)
Baccalaureate Certificate - Accounting Organisation Techniques (comparable to GCE AS level)
It also states ‘every subject passed may be considered at least comparable to GCSE grades A*-C, with the exception of English language. English is studied as a second language and is not considered comparable to English language GCSE studied in the UK.
I cannot think that any of these qualifications would exempt them from Math but I’m not sure who I can check this with?
Thanks
Steve

I agree they would not, no use of the word maths. You could check with the EPA as ultimately it will be them that has to agree or disagree.
Thanks for the reply Tracy, I did get in touch with the EPAO and they ended up saying that they would accept the Accounting qualification which I didn't expect :-)
