Break in Learning to Withdrawal - FRM04 Warning?

Created

Hi,

I have a learner that was recorded as going on a break in learning in a previous year they have subsequently withdrawn but the withdrawal date is prior to the break in learning date. I'm getting an FRM04 warning advising of a change in date from the previous year. Can the learning end date be updated in this years ILR or would it need to remain as the date of the break in learning that was recorded in 2021/2?

Any advice would be great, thanks.

Why is the withdrawal date before the break in learning date?

If someone withdraws whilst on a break you should only need to update the completion status and outcome. When they went on a break initially the learning actual end date should've reflected their last date in learning. As they've now withdrawn, and  done no new learning whilst on said break, there should be no reason to change the date.

Thank you, I believe it was possibly an error with the original break in learning date which is why the withdrawal date is prior to the break in learning.

Main issue with this is you've probably had money you shouldn't have had (unless the learner was past planned end date when they went on their BIL!), which is what ESFA are really worried about.

However, accuracy is the most important thing and if it is now correct, then that's what you should return and you'll have to live with it being on your FRM04.

Thank you, that is really helpful!
