Apprentice employment hrs reduced

Good Morning,
I have two apprentices due to start but their employer has just called me to say they are having to reduce their employment hours due to low nursery numbers, but they will go back up in January with the new intake of children. Originally employed for 30 hrs but now will be 16-20.
What would I need to do to reflect this? Would I need to extend the length of the programme.
