ALS diagnostic assessments

Apprentices do not need a formal diagnostic assessment to receive (and for us to claim for) additional support. However, where reasonable adjustments are needed for the EPA, most EPAOs require this evidence. Our ALS team require non-apprentices to pay for this assessment as it is a prerequisite for the Disable Student's Allowance (there is access to a hardship fund if applicable). Is there any where in the funding rules or associated documents which states that we can't ask apprentices to pay for these assessments in the same way?
