Care Leavers Bursary

Hi,

We have a couple of learners who we have now been made aware we can claim care leavers bursary for.  One of the learners started in March 2022 and is nearing the end of their practical period.  Are we too late to claim the bursary for them?

I don't *think* it will be too late? I think, with the pre-23/24 one, because it's a single payment, it just pops up when you add the EEF code? Certainly worth a go!

Hi,

Sorry to add to this thread but it's relevant. We have a 16-18 year old who is eligible for the care leaver bursary. However, our MIS system is not showing the code. Please can someone confirm if the EEF 4 code is relevant for a 16-18 year old? If so, I can add manually.

Yup, P97:

97. The provider must provide all 16–24-year-old apprentices the opportunity to 
declare their eligibility for the care leaver bursary
