ELF / BILF scenario

Created

None

hi all, can my amazing community help with this please?

Learner made redundant ( I would BILF ), was ELF'd, new employer found and I want to transfer using DAS/TNP3/4 and all that.

Can we amend the ELF to a BILF or leave as ELF and process as new start still using TNP3/4

These are marvellous acronyms! I assume Break in Learning Form and Early Leaver Form?

Depends how big the gap is? If it's a proper "capital R" Redundancy (and you've got proof) then, depending how far into their App they are, you've probably got 12 weeks where ESFA will fund them without an employer anyway? So they might be neither a BILF or an ELF!

If they've just been sacked/left, then you've got 12 weeks on a BILF to find them a new employer. If the gap is more than 12 weeks, only then are they an ELF and then a restart.

Hi, the learner has been processed as an early leaver but I think this is wrong and should have been a BIL (given that said learner was finding a new employer), can we amend to a BILF as within the 12 weeks?

Definitely if it's in-year (ie early leaving date is not before 31 July), also yes if, in fact, it was before 31 July, but it will pop up on your FRMs as a change from last year's data and you'll just have to deal.

Steve Hewitt- that's what I thought, sometimes you need another MIS/ILR techy person to confirm :) and yes in year so even better
