Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice - I'm tying myself in knots thinking about this.

The Apprenticeships we offer have mandatory exams that need to be taken.  The awarding body offer remote invigilation for these exams at an extra cost for each exam.  After taking into account RPL, if this reduces the negotiated cost from the band maximum are we able to add the remote invigilation charge to the reduced  negotiated price and just charge the employer the difference?  We have been told the charge is an eligible cost.

My question is - what price do I put on DAS for the learner?  The funding band maximum?  If I put the reduced amount we will be out of pocket for the difference up to the funding band maximum.

I am worried that if we put the band maximum and it is picked up at an audit we will have all funding clawed back.

TIA

Jean

In effect, the new RPL calc doesn't care about your costs, only about the number of hours an apprentice won't have to do. So if your usual hours are 500 and the learner doesn't have to do 100 of them, you *must* reduce the max funding by 10%. Sounds like you'll lose out on this one, but it's feasible you could win on other ones?

Thanks Steveh.  That was where I was at but wanted to double check.
