Tailored Learning Funding and Planning

Created

None

We have started curriculum planning and wanted to see how people are planning ‘tailored learning’ for the Adult Skills Fund. We have contacted ESFA to ask about the learning aims, whether they will continue to be hour banded, and the funding values of ‘tailored learning’ learning aims, however we have been advised we have to wait until the funding rules are released and to keep checking the ESFA updates for information. Has anyone heard anything which could be helpful and support planning the ASF?

Tailored [bleargh, awful awful name] learning is basically just going to be CL though, isn't it? So, I've no expectation that we'll get aims with hourly values in, it's not going to have a formula to fund it, just like CL doesn't, it'll just be a pile of money.

Whatever they do, there won't be bands though, the new formula for actual qualifications doesn't have bands. And, given the early "new fields for the ILR" discussions *haven't* involved bring back hours at aim level, there's no way to fund non-reg/CL/TL by the hour.

Morning. Has there been any further intel on this topic? Julia

So (outside of London*), TL will just be a lump of money in the same way that Community Learning is currently. I am assuming they will look at the non-reg formula funded we've generated in 22/23 (because last complete year) as a proportion of total and make that proportion TL in our new allocations. We'll then, effectively, get to claim that on spend up to that value for 24/25.

Contrary to what I said above (soz!), appears we *will* be returning Planned Hours for TL BUTBUTBUT this DOES NOT imply an hourly rate.

*GLA have decided Non-Reg Formula Funded aims for Essential Skills will remain in Adult Skills because... reasons?
