Understanding AEB

Created

None

Hi,

I have been asked to look into AEB and see whether this is possible to add to our current model. We are currently delivering 19+ apprenticeships but can also deliver standalone NVQ's.

I suppose in simple terms, how do we get involved? What do we need to do?

Thanks

So, this is going to massively depend on where you are in the country.

If you are in a non-devolved area, hard cheese, they've just done a tender for it that will probably last two years. Also, they want super specific things and generally quite a lot of it. There are now only 55 providers with contracts, down from nearly 200 four years ago.

If you're in a devolved area, they're much more likely to have some sort of tender a lot sooner, get in touch with them so you're on their radar.

Theoretically, sub-contracting from an existing provider (eg, your local college) may be possible but, due to a tightening up in the rules, you might not find this as easy a route as it once was (and, also, they'll be carving 20% off the top).

Sorry this is a bit bleak, it's been carnage for independent training providers delivering AEB...
