Pre-Settled Status date expiring

Created

Hi all,

We have a potential apprentice who has PRE-SETTLED status, share code visa expiry is April 2024. I can see that it will extend for another two years if they haven't applied for settled status according to Gov.uk (unless they breached some rule for staying, i.e. been out of the country for over 6 months).

With this in mind and the new apprenticeship rules about the visa expiry must cover the length of the course, would you say the above is OK or would you edge on the side of caution?

Kind regards

Wayne

Been waiting for a response about this from the Service Desk since 11 December. Personally, I think it's fine (and it's such a short term thing too, the extra two years are being added any time now) because it's government policy to do it, but you'll need to make your own risk assessment til we get a response...

Thanks Steve,

We were thinking of agreeing it but wanted another viewpoint. I'll ask for an update on their Visa in April when it expires, hopefully it should have extended on the .Gov system.. It is a Business Admin apprenticeship thus one of the shorter durations.
