In your ESFA agreement (contract) there are two relevant paragraphs: 12.3 High Needs Apprentices (those with a funded EHC plan) - DSB for relevant staff, 12.4 Criminal records checks for all Training Provider staff from overseas with access to apprentice data, and 12.6 checks and record-keeping in respect of health, safety and safeguarding.
In general organisations are discouraged by DSB from being over-broad in checking for staff who do not have regular unsupervised contact with children and vulnerable adults, so your safeguarding policy should identify which roles need DSB checks.

Can someone please confirm if the funding rules state anywhere that if a provider has a apprentice aged 19 or under that all staff from the provider need to be DBS checked? Thanks
