Condition of Funding Update

Created

Good morning,

I have been reading and re-reading the changes to the condition of funding and have been stuck on this element-

GCSE grade 2 or below or overseas qualification at the equivalent grade or no GCSE

GCSE at grades 2 and 1 are L1 equivalent so completely understand the L2 requirement to show progression.

We have EHE students attending our Study Programme and post 16 students who have no GCSE's where they haven't been in school or have not attended exams. Where we have these young people, will they all need to work toward achieving the level 2 during their programme with us or can we use their current working level?

Hello

My interpretations is they would work to the level up from their current level, so if they are showing at initial assessment as E3 you would take them up to L1.

The ultimate aim is Level 2 but you can stage it. Depending on the individual whether that can be done in an academic year or many years if they have EHC.
