The new functional skills exceptions rules are causing us confusion, especially when linked with the new Level 1 equivalencies.
I tried speaking with the Support chat but it has been referred up for a response.
If an apprentice has a level 1 (Functional Skills level 1 or GCSE D to G or 3 to 1) then can they be exempted if the current judgement is that they are working at Entry 3 as applies below.
47.1. A judgement of the apprentice’s current English and maths ability.
Or as they already have a level 1 must they persevere to attain a level 2 however many times they fail etc?
