Thanks for confirming, Steve. I just wondered if the student needed to remain if they had been included in the ILR up until this point and any funding would get recovered when the learning actual end date is recorded as the same as the learning start date.
If they are removed from the ILR, how does the ESFA reconcile the funding accrued to date?
Because each ILR effectively overwrites the previous one, the system simply looks at the totals generated this month, so when a learner is removed, all of their money goes away and that's taken from the total they're going to pay you this month (or, in extremis, multiple months, but that's highly unlikely).
Effectively, putting them back to start date and removing them entirely has exactly the same effect on the calc.

No evidence of learning - remove from ILR or withdraw?

Can I please ask for advice on how to update an apprentice's record in the ILR when it has been confirmed there has been no evidence of learning?
The Provider Support Manual states that if a learner withdraws without completing one episode of learning, for example, without attending the first class, they must not be included in the ILR.
If the student has been included in the ILR to this point, can we just remove them from the ILR or should we record them as withdrawn?
