Hello,
Can I ask your opinion of this scenario..
A Level 2 Apprenticeship Learner started in academic year 2023/24, they had a Grade 1 GCSE Maths, and started studying for their Level 1 Functional Skills due to them not having a Level 1, they have not yet passed. Fast forward to 1st August 2024 where the Maths and English grades have changed for Level 1 equivalency to include grade 1. This now means the learner has a Level 1 qualification, therefore the funding rules state they must work towards Level 2 (as they technically had level 1 when they started their programme).
At the time they signed up for Level 1 they technically didn't have a Level 1 qualification but they do now.
I know that as it used to stand they wouldn't have had to do Level 2 as they didn't have a Level 1. But now they technically do have a Level 1, so I don't know whether they would have to attempt Level 2.
