Hi Ben,
I don't have a response to your question - but would be interested if you had a reply from DfE if you also raised this with them - as this is this is something we have also been discussing at length.
If the answer is that we would lose all funding then why would a Provider pay out for any costly assessments before 42 days?

ALS and the 42-Day Qualifying Period

Hi all,
P152. of the funding rules outlines that every learner must be in learning for 42 days to qualify for 'any apprenticeship funding'. If we are aware of additional learning support, have claimed funds to support an apprentice (laptop, systems, etc.), but they leave prior to meeting this timeline - are ALS claims also subject to said qualifying rules? Would this need to be repaid also?
My gut feeling says that 'ALS' is not 'Apprenticeship Funding', though I'm yet to have this confirmed.
