Exception to regular English & Maths funding rules 24/25

Edited

None

Hello there,

Can anyone confirm around the above rules please… the funding rules state “paragraphs 36 to 38”, but paragraph 39 relates to L3 apprenticeships.

Can anyone clarify please if we can use the Exception to regular English/Maths rules for L3 apprentices? If so, will the rules be amended?

Exceptions to the regular English and maths minimum requirements,
for people with special educational needs, learning difficulties or
disabilities
"45. Where an apprentice has a learning difficulty or disability which is a barrier to
them achieving the English and / or maths requirements as described in
paragraphs 36 to 38, providers should consider whether they should be offered
the flexibility to achieve Entry Level 3 functional skills in the adjusted subject(s)."

Thank you for your reply... interesting isn't it? There was no mention of levels in the 23/24 rules either. Unsure why they decided to state this in the 24/25 rules.

I have had a query in since July 11th to also clarify if an apprentice has a prior qualification that is above that we assess them as having can they access flexibilities. I will come back if and when I get a response. I have added the all apprentices question to the query.
