They have completed all elements of practical so the programme aim is currently 1 and 8, the standard aim 2 and 8. The EPAO has advised they need a retake meaning they need to go back into learning so I've been advised to read the lovely PSM, which states I need to restart the aim - so i'm assuming I have to withdraw the programme aim and standard aim as 2 and 3 and then create new aims. I have tried to confirm this with the help desk numerous times but they seem to dance around confirming what I'm asking. If I am to restart the aims then am I to enter a original start date also?

This is what we do for those that are just resitting. To my understanding for a resit, the apprentice can resit the elements without needing further learning/additional support. For a retake, they must go back into learning for additional support. For this apprentice the EPAO has instructed that they need a retake and must go back into learning. As per the PSM, they would need a new aim with a restart indicator to reflect this retake in the ILR. would be great if we could avoid all this extra admin but the guidance is all over the place.
The difference between the resit & the retake is also in the guidance below:

If a learner has 3 elements to complete within their EPA, they fail 2 and as a result of this they don't sit their third one as it has been decided that they need to go back into learning how is this to be recorded in the ILR ?
