Return from a Break in Learning - Amending End Date

Created

None

Hi, we have an Apprentice (16-18) who went on a break in learning for Maternity Leave in March 2024.  She is wanting to return in January 2024 to resume her Apprenticeship but wont be able to attend the 33.5 hours she was doing before her break in learning.  Obviously when she returns the months that she has been off will be added onto her original expected end date but can anyone tell me if we can amend her expected end date further to accommodate the less hours she will be doing per week (at present we are not sure what she can do).  I know normally you should not alter end dates so I just wanted to check.  TIA Helen.

Oh, this used to be covered in the Rules but seems to have disappeared... P67 24/25 says:

Where there is a change to the working hours of the apprentice during the apprenticeship, the provider should refer to the change of circumstances section.

But there's nothing in the CoC section now... Last time it was there was 22/23 P305-308 here:

Microsoft Word - 2223 Provider Rules_Version 2_Final_Updated030423

Which basically says "don't change the end date but you need new agreements". Obviously, this is marginally more complex with it being someone coming back from a BIL...
