Employer Incentives for returning Apprentices

Created

Hi guys,

I think I know the answer to this but need that little bit of confirmation before advising an employer.

If an under 19 learner has completed a Level 2 apprenticeship with us and wants to progress to a Level 3 with the same employer, are they eligible for the £1000 incentive a second time?

Many thanks

Neil

Do you mean additional payment?  Incentives haven't been active for years.

If so, then yes. If they are 16-18, then the only criteria for eligibility is their age.

Eligibility criteria
99. The provider and the employer will receive an additional £1,000 payment towards
the additional cost associated with training if, at the start of the apprenticeship
training, the apprentice is:
99.1. Aged between 16 and 18 years old (or 15 years of age if the apprentice’s
16th birthday is between the last Friday of June and 31 August); or
99.2. Aged between 19 and 24 years old and has either an Education, Health
and Care (EHC) plan provided by their local authority and / or has been in
the care of their local authority as defined in paragraph 101.2.
