Yes learning need has been identified and they have assistive reading software which is used on the college computers when they come in for class and software on their smartphone. The learner however does not have a personal laptop to do their course work or any off the job work as the employer will not supply or purchase it.

Apprenticeship - claiming for a laptop - How?
Created
We have read that through the guidance under the Excess Learning Support that a laptop can be claimed but its not clear if this can be done for Apprentices and how it is done.
We use ALS if we find the apprentice has been assessed as having a learning need but obviously can['t use this for an apprentice that does not have a need. The only other option is using EAS but that is not clear on whether that can be done or not for laptops
Any advise would be much appreciated. TIA
