European Social Fund / data retention

Created

Hi

How can we identify learners who have received funding from the European Social Fund, and what guidance is there around how to reconcile the different data retention requirements of the ESFA and the ESF?

We have numerous former learners who are approaching the point where we should be destroying the data we hold for them, but who may have had ESF funding which means we need to keep the records to 2034.

Per the Submit Learner Data guidance, we should be able to identify ESF learners using funding code 70 but there is nothing on any of our reports that shows this (or funding code 36 for our other apprentices).
https://guidance.submit-learner-data.service.gov.uk/20-21/psm/article/coverage-of-the-ILR#:~:text=ESF%20funded%20learning%20is%20identified%20in%20the%20ILR,and%20to
%20inform%20the%20development%20of%20future%20policy

Where would we find this information, or can we assume that we have received no ESF funding and can therefore follow our normal policies re: data retention?

Thanks
Jim
