Learners completing work remotely

Bit tricky... Would definitely need some sort of system to prove they were still engaging, even if remotely. Presuming this is Study Prog, not Adult? Annex C P4 of the SP guidance says:

4: For distance learning provision, or where face-to-face delivery is against wider government guidance, a withdrawn student would be one failing to meet the following guidance on participation or contact:

a) attendance at a centre or log-on to learning materials

b) receipt of work or projects by the tutor (electronic or hard copy)

c) communication with the tutor that indicated that the student was still active on their learning aim, including planned contacts

It's a faff but if you've got a number of them, probably looking at a special "not in college, but not withdrawn" register mark to deal with them (and I'd make it neutral if I was setting it up)?

Thank you Steve, as the learners will be submitting and should get an achievement at the end of the course, we wouldn't be able to return them in the ilr as withdrawn then. So with regards to the ilr, we keep them live and then  when completed use their last date of attendance? potentially setting up the new register mark to take care of that too.

If they're study prog you can use the exam date for last date of attendance if they've not been in as well.

Main thing I think is keeping them honest between now and the exams, need something solid from the tutors to know that they're still engaging per b and c above (every couple of week minimum I'd have thought?) and need to keep on top of it. Wouldn't want to get to June and none of them turn up for the exams and then, "oopsie, actually haven't heard from them since March" and there go your achievement rates...

But yes, otherwise keep them live on the ILR.
