Change of syllabus on a non-mandatory qual in an Apprenticeship

Edited

None

Would we need to renegotiate the price if a non-mandatory qualification, included in our apprenticeship standards, undergoes a syllabus change partway through a three-year programme, resulting in a slight reduction in duration and fewer hours/modules to complete, even though the Planned End Date remains unchanged in the ILR? I'm concerned that the titles of the modules and what's documented on the training plan will differ too.

Well, it is a "plan"... Not sure why it would cost less to deliver, even with the changes? Total OTJ won't change, so you just need to make sure they do some other stuff (and, I'd argue, sorting that out mid-programme is likely to be more expensive than sorting it first?).

Is it not a "let's get them to the end, see if they finish a bit early, then apply the rules for early finishers if they do" situation? Particularly given it's a three year programme?

Very true. Thanks for the feedback, Steve. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't get caught out at audit somewhere along the line!
