So, two separate things. There's the grades when they arrive which go in:
ILR Specification 2024 to 2025: Field: GCSE maths qualification grade
ILR Specification 2024 to 2025: Field: GCSE English qualification grade
and should reflect what they have at the start of the year.
And then, if they are doing GCSE with you and resit in November and then stop because they've got a 4+, then you complete them early. If they don't get a 4+ in November then you just leave them open until the May/June exams.

Hi,
We have a number of 16-19 year olds who sat their GCSEs in November, and achieved below a grade 4. I previously read somewhere that in-year GCSE grades should not be updated on the ILR and should only be updated at the start of the teaching year. These learners are hoping to re-sit again in May. Any idea where this article might be available, as it would be good to share this with our Exams department. Thanks
