MI Systems for Study Programmes

Created

I'm interested in MI systems on the market for dealing with predominantly Study Programme learners.  As far as I am aware, the available systems are: ProSolution, EBS, UNIT-e and REMS (now called Civica College Management).

Are there other systems out there?  Maybe a small, 'up and coming' competitor?

Note, I know of PICS, Bud and Aptem but as far as I am aware, these deal with Apprentices (either exclusively or at least thats what they are predominantly designed for).

My main experience is with ProSolution and REMS, so I have a good idea of their pros/cons.  I'm interested in views on EBS / Unit-e and how they meet the needs of Study Programme providers.

Is all horses for courses really. EBS and Unit-e are both perfectly usable products, both have their short-comings and strengths (as do Pro and REMS, of course).

I've said it before and will, no doubt, say it again, but the best of the four is the one you already have, however much you are frustrated with it. There's no killer app out there and hasn't been since Pro launched and the first 50 customers got service levels the like of which I fear we'll never see again... Changing between them is two years of grief for a different set of problems...

Agree with Steve. We are on PICS (study programme) and have looked at other options but rather than moving we have found it better to develop the existing platform for our specific needs. If we had the budget and a magic wand to move everything across outside of the ILR data I reckon EBS would be my choice as it has the bursary module in it.
