2025/26 Maths and English Resits and Hours

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been asked previously and I have missed it.

However, just a thought - when/if we get a learner start and they are eligible for an English &/or Maths Qual but only require a resit midyear rather than starting to study the full course. What do we do with the 100hrs rule.

As in, we would not be able to evidence 100 hours in a few months if they resit in the first term or early second term? Does the 100 hour rule still count?

Also, if they passed this qual - then do we update their GCSE pass grade on the ILR, thus meaning they no longer need to study the subject?

Hope that made sense.

Thanks Ems

Well, except I can't see a situation where I'd *plan* for someone to *only* take the GCSE resit in November? Given the number who move up to a 4 is fairly tiny, I'd plan for them to be on the course through to May. Any who did get a 4, I'd close their record as an achievement and then replan the remaining timetabled hours for something similar but non-qual?
