We are thinking of asking are you ordinarily resident in the UK question at each enrolment just in case things have changed since their last enrolment (even if very unlikely).
In addition to this we are going to ask to see evidence of British citizenship once at start of relationship with the learner.
If not british citizen then we are going to ask to see e-Visa, ARC or Armed forces evidence.
This will be checked each year unless the e-Visa or ARC has an expiry date which does not cover the full funding year then we will re-check at next enrolment.
Would be good to hear how others are interpreting and planning on implementing this change of guidance.
*Why on earth does the DfE not just specify in the guidance what needs to be done - I didn't think the residency section could get any worse but the DfE have outdone themselves this year - sorry rant over :-)

How are other providers interpreting this section of the ASF funding rules:
Residency
You must check the eligibility of a learner, including where in England they are resident, at the start of each learning aim and only claim funding for ASF for eligible learners. Please refer to the glossary definition of ‘learner residency’ and the devolution postcode checker data set
Are people checking evisas at the start of each instance of learning, at the start of each enrolment, once at the start of each year/term or once at the start of the relationship with an individual?
If not at the start of each enrolment/learning aim how does our process stand up to audit.
