Thanks. What would you do if they get out of step. eg. they achieved, say, E3 in Feb, but wanted to stay on the course until its July end working towards the next level ,but were not at that level to be able to take the exam in the Summer? As the course is ending I'd have to close off the 2nd learning aim, and that would be an instant 'fail'? And what if they come back in the Autumn and take next exam in Dec and do the same again?
Well, they'd not have started the second aim, so they'd been withdrawn to start, so wouldn't be a "fail" because they wouldn't be in the stats... Might get a bit gnarly with your registers because what are they on Feb-June...
Alternatively, leave them open on the second aim and they'll be a late completer and/or set their planned end to December when they start...
(was a bit easier when we had the non-reg aims in formula-funded!)
Thanks Steve
I thought if you withdraw Adult skills learning aim, that goes down as a fail on the data? Re Feb- June - Exactly!
Re leaving them open on 2nd aim, as the course itself would finish in the July, how would I do this? How do I close down the first course with one aim outstanding? And I would need to enrol them on a new course that started in the following September. We've never continued any learning aims in my tenure here (we only do TL and a few ASF aims)
Non-starts never count, but the standard rules apply to early w/ds, ie:
If aim >168 days, learner needs to be on course for more than 42 days to count
If aim >14 days and <=168 days, learner needs to be on course for more than 14 days to count
If aim <14 days, learner needs to attend once to count
All the other faffing on is going to depends on how your student record system works but shouldn't be impossible...

Funding for two same subject AS aims in one year

Can a learner be funded for two , say, maths/english aims in one academic year? I.e if they are ready to take E3 by Christmas but not L1, pass E3 and are then ready to take L1 by the Summer, are we allowed to claim for both of those?
