T Level Learning Aim and Occupational Specialism

Created

None

We have an occupational specialism of ZTLOS006.

For 2nd year learners I cannot enrol them on a T Level learning aim of 60358294 because the last date for starts was 31/7/25.  I have tried updating just the T Level learning aim to 61057484 but I get an R147 error saying it must match with the occupational specialism.

Am I correct in thinking that I have to change the occupational specialism to ZTLOS080 even through the start date for this was Sept 24? And then the learning aim to 61057484.  Bit confused as the extract from the spreadsheet says “only available for continuers in ac year 25/26” which mine are but I am still getting the R147 error??

Structure of current enrolment is as follows:

ZPROG001 Sept 24 to July 26

60358294 Tech qual year 1 Sept 24 to July 25

61057484 Tech qual year 2 Sept 25 to July 26 - this is what errors in the ilr giving validation error R147

ZTLOS006 occupational specialism Sept 24 to July 26 - do i need to change this learning aim to ZTLOS080 and if so do i do that but ending the current ilr entry with an end date of July 25 and start a new OC with a start date of Sept 25???

Hello,

T Levels are 2 year programmes and we generally expect the Technical Qualification to run across both years of the programme. Your example suggests that is what you are trying to do.

If so, then the original enrolment onto the technical qualification should be a 2 year enrolment (i.e. start date in year one and planned end date in year 2) rather than 2 separate 1 year enrolments on the same qualification.

So what you should have for students starting Early Years in 2024/25 is:

ZPROG001 Sept 24 to July 26
60358294  Sept 24 to July 26
ZTLOS006 Sept 24 to July 26

Those starting early years in 2025/26 would, instead enrol on the Generation 2 versions of those qualifications (61057484,
ZTLOS080)

As you are currently trying to record the TQ as separate enrolments in both years, you are falling foul of the Generation 1 version having been replaced by the generation 2 version and the last date for new starts of the generation 1 qualification reflects this.

I hope this helps.
