None
Enter learning data (ELD) is now live for non-funded apprenticeshipproviders to manage their learning data.
Non-funded apprenticeships (FM99) are the latest funding model to join funded apprenticeships (FM36) and Care to learn funded courses (FM82) able to use the new service. ELD is an easy way for providersto create their individualised learner record (ILR) files.
Additional funding models will be added to ELD throughout 2026 so that more providers can make the switch from the learner entry tool (LET). Emails will be sent out to LET providersas soon astheir funding model is available.
Current users have told us that ELD is “such a refreshing change” and a “massive improvement” in managing their learning data. ELD is “much faster”, “much more user-friendly” and “more streamlined”.
Benefits of using ELD include:
reduced data duplication when entering learners
real-time validation to help you get your data correct
guided user journeys
improved self-service with links to guidance
web-based service which allows multiple users for the same organisation
storage of data in the secure DfE environment
links to other DfE services, for example, the learning records service (LRS)
Once you’ve exported your ILR files, you’ll need to upload them to Submit Learner Data (SLD).After submitting your file, it is important that you check the rule-violation reports and funding reports. Any learners that fail ILR validation (that is, have errors on your rule-violation reports) will not generate any funding. If you choose to, you can use FIS (Funding Information Service) to generate reports before uploading to SLD.

The guidance page for ELD: set up your ILR and manage your data will help those providers who are new to the service.
