King's Trust learners

Hi All,

We are currently having some internal discussions regarding the Kings Trust course and the condition of funding for English and maths. As I understand it, and the DFE have confirmed, learners enrolled on the King's Trust should also be meeting the required hours for English and Maths, so therefore need the min hours fields updating. How has anyone else delivering the King's Trust managed to meet the required hours for English and Maths to meet the condition of funding?

Thanks,

Gillian

Problem is how much of it is delivered embedded/contextually rather than them having separate ENGLISH and MATHS registers, isn't it? It's a bit daft when King's Trust was treated as automatically meeting CoF up until this year. Personally, I'd be bolshy about it (moi?), they're on 400+ hours, it's all embedded so sure they get 85 hours of each, tick the box, but, as if it needs saying, I Am Not An Auditor.

Hi Gillian and Steve,

I'm also looking into KT learners around CoF that are currently counting towards our 2.5% tolerance.

Does this support exemption?

Hi Paul

Sorry, I'm not directly involved in delivery of KT at the mo, but I understand that there's an LDM code you use but that doesn't clear them from the CoF report like it used to because they need the minimum hours flags to be "is meeting minimum hours" as well. So the discussion becomes "how can we prove they've met minimum hours if we don't have separate E&M registers?" which is where audit becomes tricky without something from DfE in black and white that says "look, KT is fine, of course it meets minimum hours"...

So you wouldn't flag them as exempt, the qual itself meets CoF (with the LDM code), it's an hours question.
