As I understand it, the preference is that the Last Day of Learning is new learning, included in the training plan, and relates to the KSBs. I have seen comments that preparing for EPA is study skills not about the KSBs so wouldn't count. Revision is arguable (it was at one point specifically excluded but that has been dropped). So on the whole having a LDOL that is clear and well-evidenced is better than rolling it up with gateway unless there is a strong reason not to.

Gateway vs Last day in Learning clarification
Edited
Hi all,
We are currently reviewing our internal processes and I wanted to seek clarification on determining the last day of learning (LDoL) for learners.
I have seen a previous thread on this topic; however, I wanted to check whether this still applies under the current funding rules.
Can gateway be used as the LDoL where there is activity relating to EPA preparation (for example reflection, mock discussions, or similar), and could this be considered as revision and therefore count towards off-the-job hours?
Or alternatively, must the LDoL always reflect the final date on on-programme learning activity has been completed, with gateway treated as a readiness checkpoint rather than learning?
Any clarification or confirmation of best practice would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
