Apprentices working fewer than 30 hours per week - duration

Created

Hello

Hoping someone can help please.

We have a scenario where we had an apprentice start in 19/20, and has worked 20 hours per week throughout the apprenticeship so far. We therefore extended her duration accordingly to 2 years on programme with her Employer to ensure she had enough time to complete.

She now wishes to complete within a 14 month duration (she is on a Framework). Is this actually possible that she can complete so much earlier than her planned duration of 24 months?

I know we won't look great from an IAG point of view as we thought she would need much more time, but it seems the Employer has been accommodating enough to allow her more time than originally thought to complete her apprenticeship work?

Can anyone provide me with any advice on this please?

Many thanks

L

Ooh, going to get a bit tricky this. Someone on 20 hours a week has a (legal) minimum duration of 78 weeks (18 months, give or take), so they can't complete before that as far as I know.
