Can a review meeting count as a last day of learning?

Created

None

I've been operating on the assumption that a review meeting can't be used as evidence of the last day of learning (before a break or withdrawal for example) - on the grounds that it's a 'review' not 'learning'.

I can't find anywhere that specifically states this in order to make the case. All I have is that review meetings don't count towards OTJ. The counter argument is quite reasonable - that for the standard in question, a review with mentors will naturally lead to learning against the KSBs, as the KSBs include things like giving and receiving feedback and reflecting on own performance.

Appreciate any advice!

Good try but.

P49 Off-the-job training does not include:

P49.2 progress reviews or on-programme assessment required for an apprenticeship standard

The audit criteria is: The learning actual end date recorded in the ILR reflects the last date that there is evidence of learning activity for any part of the standard, except where a learning aim has been completed at an earlier date and recorded as such.

Sorry do not agree with your counter argument.

We do use our reviews as evidence of last day of learning as we provide teaching at these sessions. I'm not too sure how you conduct your reviews but our TAs are always expected to deliver teaching at learner reviews and we record all teaching/learning given on our review forms.

As I have said it must be the last day of learning activity so if you have evidence of training on the same day as the last review then you can use that date otherwise progress reviews in themselves cannot be used.

Thanks both - that's clarified it for me. Reviews don't count, but if there is training against the standard taking place alongside the review we can document and use that. Much appreciated!!
